So, it's been a little while since I've posted and a lot has happened!! My best friend trusted me with her whole wedding!! Well, all the cakes anyway!! So here we go...
The Bridal Shower

Top tier was red velvet with cream cheese frosting and the bottom tier was orange rum with orange rum glaze and chocolate orange buttercream. The whole cake was frosted in vanilla buttercream. The art on the cake was supposed to mimic the beautiful design on the plates, haha, I did my best!! Much to my suprise a lot of the guests got it!! So happy with the way it turned out and even happier that the Bride and her whole family LOVED it!!
The Grooms Cake
After many many many hours of looking through pics and trying to get ideas, my friend came up with the idea of a poker themed cake, and this is what we designed. It was a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. Crumb coated in buttercream and covered in homemade white chocolate marshmallow fondant. I'm still working on my skills (lol...) so the cards and chips are real, but the next cake I make, you'll be able to eat them!! haha...The groom loved it and it was awesome to see all the guys goofing off around the cake!!
The Wedding Cake
Before final touches
So this cake was a true labor of love!! Each tier was Orange Rum with Orange Rum glaze and Chocolate Orange buttercream. It was then crumb coated in vanilla buttercream and covered in homemade white chocolate marshmallow fondant. I hand piped the scroll work and the monogram out of buttercream. The bottom of each tier is wrapped in black satin ribbon.
This was the biggest cake I have taken on and to be honest, it was scary!!!! I mean my best friend trusted me to make her WEDDING CAKE!! The bride and the cake are like the 2 things that everyone goes to see and I was making the cake?? But in the end, I was proud of how it all turned out. After it was all set up and I was sitting at the table waiting for the happy couple to arrive, I was just watching and listening...EVERYONE LOVED THE CAKE!! There were so many people taking picture after picture after picture of the cake saying how amazing it was!!! It was a major confidence boost. And the look on the family's face when they saw it...and especially the brides expression, yeah, I was proud. So, to my best friend, Thank you for trusting me and I'm very very happy for you. Congrats Girl!!!
